—Jack Welch
My longstanding interest in business stems from my experience in my own family’s business, which we ultimately listed on the American Stock Exchange. I served as a Board Member of the company during a period of dynamic growth, as we embarked on the process of becoming publicly traded.
Over the years, I have brought my psychological skills to businesses from many sectors. These sectors include: Automotive, Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate, Entertainment (Arts, Film, Stage), Finance (Banking & Private Equity), Technology, and others.
Executive Coaching
I help my clients acquire a greater understanding of themselves and how to fit productively into the bigger business picture. During years of corporate experience, I have provided effective change solutions through leadership development, capacity building, and action-oriented executive coaching. While creating a deepened understanding of the dynamics affecting both the individual and the organization, I help clients navigate in a multi-stakeholder environment, facilitating effective decision making and propelling their careers forward.
I have worked with many companies, CEO’s, and other high-level individuals. I have come to appreciate how, regardless of the industry, the keys to successful leadership cut across sectors. These individuals have been with numerous corporations, a few of which are listed below:
- American Red Cross
- Bank of America
- BlackRock
- Capital One
- Columbia University
- Cravath
- Evercore
- P. Morgan Chase
- Mercedes Benz of North America
- Nat Sherman
- NBC
- New York-Presbyterian Hospital
- Morgan Stanley
- Skadden
- Verizon
- Weil, Gotshal & Manges
Typically, my clients see me as a trustworthy, understanding, knowledgeable confidante, providing a rare opportunity to speak openly about their concerns and stresses, and how best to deal with them.
I adapt basic counseling and therapy principles and methods with my understanding of who they are and their business goals. As we work together to solve their business problems, my clients’ leadership skills and perspective typically deepen.
General & Family-Owned Businesses
Helping businesses, especially family businesses, is an interest of mine. Issues of authority, responsibility, accountability, and compensation can become complicated by family ties, and can heighten family strains. These issues are often aggravated when new family members come on board, or issues of succession arise. I approach this work with a “double bottom line” in mind—to benefit both the business and the family—and I consider myself to be successful when I achieve both.
